Orthotics is a specialist medical discipline in which external orthoses or braces/supports are prescribed and fitted to an individual following an in depth physical and biomechanical assessment. Orthoses are used to treat many common medical conditions. The overall objective of orthotic treatment is to assist your body's function and this is often achieved in one of the following ways:

Foot orthosis insole fitting
  • Correction or prevention of a physical deformity

  • Stabilisation of a joint or joints

  • Reduction of pain

  • Compensation for muscular weakness/dysfunction

  • Reduction in the risk of injury

Our Orthotic Clinic is conducted by expert clinicians who are HCPC registered and fully insured. Martin Middleton is the lead clinician and conducts the majority of clinical sessions. Our clinical base is in the Hertfordshire region with additional satellite clinics. We provide a comprehensive orthotic service for both adults and children. One of our key objectives is to provide the most comprehensive assistive technology. We stay abreast of developments and work closely with leading manufacturers to source and develop the best technology. Our multi-disciplinary contacts are available where necessary to be part of a solution that goes beyond just the provision of the orthosis itself, such as teaching a patient how to correct movement habits once a new orthoses is provided.
